The Madrid International Registration of Trademarks can only be submitted through the International Registration Office of the Trademark Office. The registration process for the Madrid Trademark is as follows:
1.The applicant submits the application document to the Trademark Office International Registry on its own or by the agency;
2.Trademark Office International Registry conducts a review of the form and whether the fee is paid, issued a "notice of acceptance";
3.The International Registry of the Trademark Office will forward the application documents to the WIPO International Bureau for review;
4.WIPO International Bureau conducts a formal review, issues an "International Registration Letter", and forwards the application to the designated countries for review;
5.Each of the designated States shall carry out a substantive examination and shall, within 12 months or 18 months, make a notice of approval for protection or refusal, and if it is not rejected, it shall be deemed that the mark is automatically protected in that designated State.
